Franklin Farmers Market on Saturday Mornings

Farmers Markets are awesome! For the past month and a half or so I have been going to the farmers market and just love it.  To me, it is the perfect way to start my weekend mornings. Kyle went with me one time and wasn't overly thrilled. I will be dragging him out again one weekend morning soon since every weekend there is more and more to do and see.

I love all the locals getting together to sell their homegrown and homemade goodies.  There is so variety and options. I love just strolling around seeing what is new every week.  In the town we live in the market is pretty awesome! I can say that I have been to a few markets that are just no good, where everything is just thrown together and no one seems to care.  Not this one, there are super friendly people and everyone seems to be so welcoming.

Since we are still in May (just barely) all the farmers markets seem to just be getting good.  There is not a TON of fruit and veggies just yet since it is not technically summer yet.  I am so excited to see all the summer fruit and veggies in just a few weeks…they are coming! Mounds and mounds of goodness!

Just livin'...

Not much going on over here in Nashville.  Life is good right now.  Kyle and I both just feel like time is flying by.  Mid May already...insane! Summer is just about here and that is when all the craziness will begin.  Starting in July(ish) is when our traveling starts, luck us.  Being that we moved far far away from family we are the ones that get to travel..boo!!

Here's what our summer/fall/winter months will look like:

June/July - Jay, Joan and Jason are coming to visit! Woohoo!  They will be our first visitors.

July - Idaho for a wedding (hopefully).

September - California for a wedding.  Danny (Kyle's bff, haha) is getting married on Kyle's birthday!

November - Utah for Thanksgiving.

December - California for Christmas.

Hopefully somewhere in there we will be having our own little getaways.  Being that we now live in Nashville there are so many awesome spots that we want to see.

The weather down here in the South is a bit interesting/freakish/crazy.  =)  Being that we lived in CO for a little over 2 years we learned the sound of tornado sirens.  What a beautiful sound...no, not really.  It is more annoying and frightening than anything else.  Well, here in Nashville (as of late) we had been hearing sirens pretty much every week, if not several days in a row.  Nice, huh?  I guess that is the South for ya. =)

An Easter Weekend

Happy (belated) Easter!

Hope everyone had a great day with there loved ones.  Since we now live WAY too far away from family to be traveling back for every single holiday, we spent the weekend in Atlanta with some good friends.  Our friends invited us down to there home in Atlanta and we had a great time.  There was a lot of food, shopping, mini golf and video games involved.  Good times!

Kyle and I are sort of obsessed with the Man vs. Food show as of late.  Since we live in a new part of the country that we never thought we would live in, we have be exploring and finding all the hot spots to go eat at.

Here in Nashville we went to Jack's BBQ.  We were told and saw that it was best BBQ in town and everyone was right!  It was amazing and still the best BBQ I have had EVER!

In Atlanta we went to Vortex.  It is a burger spot with a bar type of feel.  It was great!  There were TV's all over (it's basketball finals so there HAD to be TV's) and had a really cool feel to it. Man vs. Food went here and at the largest burger ever!  So many choices.

Crazy much?  Yes!  But delicious!  So if you are ever in the ATL and want a good burger this is the place to go!

We went to a few other great spots as well, played 3 rounds of mini golf (Kyle won of course) ;) and made a traditional Easter dinner on Sunday. It was just perfect!

                                         Happy Easter!

Our First Visit to Nashville!

Back in February, Kyle and I went to Nashville for the weekend to see where we wanted to live. (We still lived in Parker at that time.) Kyle's work paid for the trip which was awesome!  We had no clue where to live since neither of us had ever been to Nashville.  We knew that we wanted to be close to the city but not in the city and we knew that we wanted to be close to Kyle's work.  We ended up finding a little place in Brentwood/Franklin which is about 10-15 minutes south of Nashville.  It is a great area that is historic yet developing very quickly...perfect.  Kyle's work is only 10 minutes away and we are located close to everything, which is just what we wanted.

Anyways, back to us visiting in February.  The weekend flew by.  We were busy seeing different locations, houses and apartments as well as.....grubbin' on some food!  Nashville is known to have some good BBQ so Kyle and I were on a mission.  We had heard that there was an awesome well known place in downtown Nashville so that was where we headed.  The line was outrageously long which stinked since it was raining out side but that was a sign that the food was awesome...so we waited.  It was worth the wait.  The food was awesome and I am sure we will go back.

By the end of the weekend we were pooped!  It was a great trip since we found out where exactly we wanted to live and we also found a place to live.  Score!

Overall, great first time in Nashville!

Update from NASHVILLE...ahhhhh...

Wow...that is so weird to say.  We  now live in Nashville (actually 10 minutes south of the city) and I just can't believe it.  I have told Kyle probably close to 5 times within the last 3 days that it is just so weird that we now live in the south!  YIKES!

Here is a quick little update.  I forgot to bring my camera cord so I apologize for the lack of pictures but I promise that they are coming.

The drive from Parker to Franklin is 19 1/2 hours.  Scary huh?  It actually was not bad at all.  I was pretty nervous about the trip only because Xena was with us.  She had never been in the car for that long so I didn't really know how she would react.  Well...she was amazing and literally slept the entire time.  I couldn't believe it!  Kyle is such a stud and did most of the driving.  He only let me drive for 2 1/2 hours and then he was itching for me to let him drive again.  (I didn't mind much!)

It has been a pretty long first week here in Tennessee only because NONE of our furniture is here yet.  I guess that is the price you pay when your company moves you.  We were the first house loaded into the moving truck meaning...last to be unloaded.  Needless to say...Kyle and I are both over being on an air bed and eating out for just about every meal.

Well...there you have it!  We live in Tennessee and are just trying to get use to the South.  It is very different, in a good way.  I have been told numerous times "You have the cutest accent!"  I just think to myself "Ummm...sorry you are the one with the accent!"  =)

Merry Christmas...

Happy New Year...

Happy Birthday To ME!...

Happy Valentine's Day!

Now I am all caught up. =)

Life has been busy, crazy, exciting and new!   Before we get to all of that...I'll recap a little to get everyone up to speed on "us".  Exciting stuff has taken place people....

Christmas (seems like it was so long ago) was spent in Utah.  We had a nice 10 day stay so we got to spend a lot of time with family.  It is great to be with family during the holidays.

New Years was also spent in Utah with Kyle's family.  It was a great night!  We went out for an awesome Mexican dinner and then back to Marc's and Karen's for appetizers and  sparkling cider.  It was a great way to bring in the New Year!

Happy Birthday To ME!  EK!  25 years old!  Now, I know that is not really OLD but can I just say...I am feeling OLD!  Kyle is going to be 27 this year and I just can't believe it.  Another great birthday with Kyle and Xena.  It was nice to just be home and not out of town having somewhere to go.  We relaxed, had an amazing dinner and watched out shows.  PERFECT time in my book! =)

Happy Valentine's Day!  Having Valentine's Day on a Monday is no fun so this year we celebrated on Saturday since I work late on Monday's.  We went out for a fabulous dinner to Trappers Chop House here in Parker.  AMAZING!  All of our food was cooked and served of hot stones.  If you haven't experienced anything like this before, you must!

Wow, there we go!

Like I said, life has been busy.  We finally got back into the swing of things after the holidays so it was back to normal life.  Work, play, work, play!  Kyle's work has been going great as well as mine.  Kyle recently passed a huge test, the Series 7.  He studied for months and it paid off!  90%!  WOOHOO BABY!  Xena is going to be 2 years old this coming April and for the next 1 1/2 weeks we are still living here in Parker Colorado.

We are moving!!!!  Nashville here we come.  Last weekend Kyle and I were in Nashville looking at houses and just experiencing the Southern lifestyle.  We loved it in Nashville!  The food is amazing, the people are super friendly and we are really excited about the opportunity.  We are moving officially on  March 9th and Kyle's starts in the Franklin/Nashville office on March 14th.  Everything is coming up so fast so blogging will be put on the back burner for a good 2 weeks or so.  I will be back though....promise!

Welcome...you made it

to our new blog!  (Tough, I know.) I decided it was time for a change.  Blogger use to not be very user friendly but it is now different.

Anyways, every single last Christmas present is now bought and I am done...done...done!! Woohoo!  Today we finally got to see some snow...just a light dusting but still.  This winter/fall has been so mild it is crazy.

Tomorrow Kyle and I will be celebrating our family (the 2 of us...and Xena) Christmas.  We leave Thursday morning for Utah for 10 days where we will be celebrating Christmas and New Years.  We are so excited!

Have a great Friday night!
